Physical therapist assistants work under licensed physical therapists (PTs) to help people with physical injuries or illnesses of to regain range of movement and control their pain, follow plans created by PTs that involve stretching, strength training, exercises and physical manipulation to help people recover. PT assistants are in charge of the treatment area, making sure that it is clean, neat, and ready for each patient.
Required credentials: Graduate from an accredited physical therapists assistant program.
Valid NY state PTA license.
